If you are new to climbing or not affiliated with Cornell in any way you can start climbing on the wall by attending a Learn To Climb session. Our instructors will handle all aspects of the safety skills and all climbing equipment is included. Community-based therapeutic recreation is the fastest growing area of practice and the most varied.The Lexington Recreation and Community Programs Department is where Lexington residents can participate in seasonal and year-round, unique, quality programs.  Complete our indoor lead climbing clinic and experience the thrill of putting the rope up as you climb. If you`re climbing shoes have holes on the toe, it`s a sign your footwork needs help.Option I: All climbers must successfully pass our free Safety and Skills Test to receive unlimited access to the climbing wall for four months. Students will be taught basic belay and knot techniques as well as valuable climbing techniques to assist new climbers to successfully reach the top of the wall. In addition, entering unauthorized areas such as offices and maintenance workshops without the express permission of UCLA Recreation will be considered trespassing. People with such degrees often work in parks and recreation centers in towns, on community projects and activities. The Recreation staff coordinates a variety of recreation programs including Middle School Athletics, Teen Center, Palo Alto Youth Council, year round Life-Long Learning classes, adult sports leagues and a dynamic summer camp and aquatics program. The Lexington Recreation and Community Programs Department has operated as an Enterprise Fund since 1991.Located in the HPER building (Rm 202b), the climbing wall features 6000 sq. ft of climbing space, split evenly between bouldering and top roping. AGGRESSIVE, UNSAFE OR RECKLESS BEHAVIOR: Aggressive, unsafe or reckless behavior is explicitly forbidden in UCLA Recreation facilities and programs. All first time users of the climbing wall must undergo a brief orientation before using the wall. The lead climbing class is required by all climbers who would like to participate in sport climbing on the UW-Eau Claire indoor climbing wall.
Learn to Lead is a comprehensive and in-depth course on lead climbing for those looking to increase their knowledge and refine their skills. The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has a neighborhood recreation center that is close to your home. Traditional climbing (more casually known as Trad climbing) is a form of climbing without fixed anchors and bolts. Recreational Services operates out of ten facilities located throughout the campus with a range of operating hours and services. Climbers will become familiar with UW-Eau Claire policy and procedures and safety specifics for sport climbing on an indoor wall.For climbers 18 years or older, the waiver form can be found here Climbers under the age of 18 years will require a parent or guardian signature on their waiver form, which is found here Please bring an original signed copy of the waiver with you to the Climbing Gym. If you cannot remove your rings please inform the instructor prior to climbing and they will help tape them up. Any long hair should be tied back to prevent entanglement in our auto belay system. In the interest of the safety of all users, members should refrain from sponsoring individuals who are unknown to them and to report any solicitations to do so to UCLA Recreation staff. In addition to our open hours we offer quarter-long recreation classes that teach climbing basics, intermediate and advanced climbing techniques, and other technical skills.
